1st Annual IDPA Veteran and Range Officer Appreciation Match hosted by Hamilton County Fish and Game Association.

    Event: Standard IDPA pistol match
Purpose: Say THANKS to all our Veterans and also all those who volunteer running matches of ANY shooting sport (IDPA/USPSA/Steel Challenge)
Location: Hamilton County Fish and Game Association
When: Saturday November 12. Registration 9:00 - 9:30 AM Shooters Meeting 9:45 AM*
Price: FREE to anyone who has served in the US military.
FREE to any area shooting sport Match Director, Range Officer, or Safety Officer who volunteered more than 1 match in 2011.
$10 for anyone not meeting criteria above.
Course: 5-6 stages. Need approx 100-200 rounds

Nov 11 is Veterans Day and we want to thank all those who have served in the US military regardless of the era they served.
Also, as the 2011 shooting season is finishing for many shooters, we would like to say thanks to all the hard working volunteers who allow local Indiana shooting sports exist - Match Directors, Range Officers, Safety Officers.

Standard IPDA pistol match at Hamilton County Fish and Game Association Saturday Nov 12. Range setup begins at 7:30-9:00. Shooter Registration is 9:00-9:30 AM and shooter safety briefing is at 9:45 AM.
New shooters are welcome, but we must have EVERYONE attend the mandatory safety briefing at 9:45 AM. *If you are late, you will not be able to compete (sorry).

We plan to provide a challenging match to push the shooter to engage targets at distance, under time pressure, and we will use some target types some folks may not have shot at before.
The stages will be challenging and fun, but as always safety is our #1 driver.

Please RSVP to carbine.shooters@yahoo.com if you plan to attend so we can staff accordingly.
Weather looks good, but if for any reason we need to cancel the match we will send an email NLT 6:30 AM Saturday morning.

Also, we would recommend bringing a pair of boots. The bays are fine, but we have been doing alot of earth moving expanding the range and some parts of the range are pretty muddy.

    Thanks!
    Mike W and Mike C

Thanks to everyone who attended the 1st Annual HCFG Veteran and Range Officer Appreciation Match.
It is our small way of saying thanks to our area Veterans and shooting sport volunteers. We hope everyone had a fun, safe time.

Matches like this are a volunteer sport and we'd like to thank everyone who helped paste, score, RO, setup, and tear down. Without this help we could not run matches like this.

Also, thanks to everyone for being SAFE shooters; obviously we can only run these matches as long as folks are safe and that was not an issue.

Congrats to Joel H and Jacob M for finishing 1st and 2nd; great job guys.

We also hope everyone found the stages challenging and found some areas they can improve on; identifying areas to improve is part of why we compete. The distance shooting, reactive targets, and Tueller drills hopefully challenged shooters or at least made them think; that was a goal.

Constructive feedback, positive or negative, is always appreciated.

Hopefully everyone saw the major improvements to HCFG facilities and we are looking forward to using the new bays in the 2012 shooting season.

Weather and schedule dependent, we *may* have a carbine match in early to mid-December. If so, emails and forums posts will follow.

We hope everyone has a safe, holiday season and we'll certainly see everyone next shooting season.

    Thanks!

    Mike W and Mike C
