start the new year off with a bang ! ham shoot ( just like a turkey shoot)

Antwerp Conservation Club , Antwerp Ohio

shooting starts at noon

any shotgun

$2 a shot we supply the ammo ( and must use our ammo )

I believe we will be offering a light hot lunch

the club house will be open with hot coffee and place to sit and enjoy the day

no shotgun? no problem I know there will be a loaner gun or two to use

At risk of sounding Noobish, What exactly goes on at this "ham shoot". What are you shooting at with the single round?

a ham shoot shot works just like a turkey shot , but we are giving away hams

we set up 10 , 12X12 cads are 30 yards, line up 10 guys at once, each has one round, you fire at the card, pull your card, and see who has the most pellets in the 3 inch circle in the middle of the card, that person wins a ham

and then we grab new cards,line up ten more shooters and try again

Unlimited guns? I'd this is our clubs first time holding this kind of event.

I'm thinking this is a "run what ya brung" kinda event

My rig is mossberg 12ga 28in barrel with a card shooter choke, it's a 3 inch extended vented , should work well.

Turkey/extra full/super full/card chokes are allowed as far as I know, we may modify that role for next year

I have seen guys mod guns just to win hams and turkeys.

I would specify factory guns in factory config only. No aftermarket chokes to keep it fair.

If not Joe Blow is going to show up with his 30 yard card vaporizer and take your hams home.

Thank you for your thoughts we need them.......around my area a highly modified shot gun, would be,"hey look,I cammo'ed my gun"
