![]() | Bowling Pin Match Saturday June 28 Bowling Pin Match Marion County Fish & Game Association Saturday June 28, 2008 I'll be there at 8am to set up We start shooting shortly after 8:30 Although the forecast changes daily, the current forecast predicts rain. Sometimes they are less than accurate. Hopefully we will get to shoot pins. In addition to our regular brackets, we'll be shooting a bracket of "just the heads" with 22's. Bring your 22's and extra magazines. Hope to see you there. Browndog2 |

![]() | so how do these things work? i think the idea of knocking pins off a table as a great challenge.... would be fun! what do you use besides 22lr's? i have 9mm, 40cal, 380 as far as pistols i recently bought a couple pins to try this out in the country just never found a place to go yet.....

There's more info at: http://home.comcast.net/~browndog2/bowlingpin.html Your best bet would be to start with the 9mm, because it is in the "minor" category. Minor category has the pins placed in the middle of the table, as opposed to major where the pins are nearer the front. Even with the minor location adjustment, heavier 9mm bullets perform better. 147/148 or 124 wrok better than the standard 115 grainers. 40 cal is in the major category, pins are nearer the front and standard loads are not as effective for most shooters. (note this opinion is from a person who shoots 10mm instead of 40 s&w) Actually the biggest factor is slowing down enough to get solid hits on the pins. (focus on the front sight) Consider comming out to play. | |
