    There's been a thread or two on these in the past. I think it looks cool, but I'm really not sure about the practicality of it. I've never seen a Moped that really impressed me. For a Mad Max / post apocalyptic / ITEOTWAWKI type scenario, I'd opt for my old Rokon Trailbreaker instead. Hopefully we see the Russian Tarus here someday.

    Buy an old Gilera / Sears 106SS or 124. Magneto ignition and 100+ mpg. I have one that I've had since new in '65 and three more in parts. On the plus side I can get 60 mph out of it with my lard a$$ in the saddle and it will go anywhere with patience. You can find them on the market for about 600 bucks.

    They wouldn't be considered street legal in NYS, as they'd be classified as a motorized bike. Can't speak for your state
    I'd think it would be hard to justify buying something that you couldn't really use before the "big day".
