![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Are You an American ? Are you....... Friends, did you help a fellow American keep a job today or........... was it your choice to buy foreign to save a couple of bucks? American jobs are on the rocks. Chrysler & G.M. are whats on the News and its the U A W'S fault for what happened. PLEEEEEASE, speak the truth or don't speak. I don't agree with all of the UAW'S perks, and for them, they are suffering. But these guys and gals are just like you and me, they have families to support, mortgage payments, dreams of retirement and just want to watch the Grandkids run barefoot thru the freshly cut green grass. Is that wrong? We, as Americans did not create this problem, but we allowed it to happen. How can any red blooded American that is part of Manufacturing compete against any foreign made product. Thats right, we can't. The 13 year old kid in Korea stamping out fenders for the Kia line is not provided a Retirement Plan, Social Security or Health Care. Your neighbor next door is though. And guess who's S.S. benefits are putting a few extra groceries on the table for Mom & Dad since their lifelong savings were stripped from them by the crooks in Washington. Thats right, another neighbor across the street. Only Americans will help fellow Americans. No doubt, we can save a couple of bucks by getting those cute import sneakers at Walmart, that pair of Carharts (now made in China) at Tractor Supply. But at what cost, your neighbors job, his house then his marriage. Maybe its your Job, then your house and then YOUR marriage. Help out a fellow American, support American products. Buy a pizza from the little shop down the road, have it delivered and tip the young guy that brings it to you. He just bought his first car, he has the same dreams of fixing it up, thats right, just like you did when you were his age. Have a cookout, buy the burgers from the local butcher and have some friends over for a pitch in. Raise the Flag, Stand up and Be an American. We are the most UNITED, MOST PROUD & STRONGEST GROUP of PEOPLE ON ALL OF GOD'S GREEN EARTH. Lend a hand, help a neighbor, brother, an Aunt, buy American. If you can, slip a few bucks into an plain envelope, drop it in the mailbox of the little guy down the street with a note: I heard little Johnnie wanted to play Spring Football, or Sally looks like cheerleader material and Spring Football needs her. Better yet help Coach and take him/her with you. You are "MY" American Friends, "MY" neighbors, we can help each other. It can be done with so little effort. And it feels soooooo good! While I see a lot of immigrants moving to the U.S. of A. for obvious reasons, which Countries are buying our products? Who is helping us? When the chips are down, we get blamed again. Voice your disdain with your American Dollars. Ask for American Made Products, even when the're no longer available, Buy American when you can. We can no longer wait for the Washington Elite to step in. That was outsourced with incorrect spelling, came back step on!!! Many Great People fought to insure my freedom of speech, you may not agree with my views but have the same freedom to disagree. This is a long rant and for that I apologize. I am a younger old American. I have witnessed many changes in my Country, many have been good, many are nothing less than disgusting. I want our Country Back, us seasoned people know whats been taken. If you take nothing from what I have written above, at least hug your kids before they become wards of the State. Its coming. Randy B. of Greenwood FREEDOM IS NOT FREE ! Thank a Vet !

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sorry, I won't ever buy a car from any company that was bailed out. They forced large salaries and benefits on company's for jobs that anyone could do, while our military is paid next to nothing. Besides, many of these companies outsourced to Mexico and other countries, most of our "American" cars aren't even 100% American made. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't have a retirement package like UAW workers have, and yet my taxes go up and up while I pay for their bailout. They spend 10s of billions of other people's money before filing for bankruptcy? Sorry, I don't have much sympathy for GM and Chrysler. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | People need to adjust to comparative advantage already. We can't just say "Hey we can make cars, so lets make cars!" It used to be that way, but now that there are other industrialized nations out there, we need to specialize. Sorry but a high school diploma and a 9-5 factory job aren't going to put us in a position that lets us be economically superior. I know, its the same stuff everyone knows, some say, and even less act on, but it just wears me out after a while...

![]() ![]() | So sorry for the pain these people are feeling. It is affecting my family directly as i have family working in Kokomo, but the bottom line is this, To have such a high paying job with the safety net of the job banks, and they can turn a 3 hour job into 3 days, hvac, millwrights, etc. These people are not stupid, unless they thought that gravy train was actually going to last forever. And you're right, they can't compete, with their outdated business model. Things change and the people who get burnt are the ones who are too slow to change. Dave Ramsey says, "Failure is Instructive". Give me a break, we have the Reliant K car and Honda has the civic..Our products have been inferior for too long and the UAW can't pick up a broom to stay busy, because it's "not in their pay grade". I'm not mad or hot, it's just so obvious that the unions have to be busted...I have family in SE Kentucky who have risen from trailer parks to $200K homes, all because of Toyota...Somerset Kentucky has rediculously propspered because of Toyota...Employees aren't complaining, they are American jobs prospering American families and American towns...Looks like their business model can weather an economic storm...As i said, i'm sorry for their pain, but i can't patronize a bad business model. Not to mention the fact that it stalls the advancement of our country by not allowing these folks to feel enough pain to pull the bootstraps and pursue higher skills which advances our country by default....I appreciate your willingness to help, but your solution holds people and our country back. The party is over... And to answer your question, my Grandfather worked in the Detroit munitions factories, driving 500 miles to the family farm on weekends, to farm for food, my dad volunteered for Nam, and my 5 year old was at the vet day parade saying "Thank you for your service"..I am indeed an American |

![]() | This is how I see it. I buy a toyota, Honda, Nissan whatever. The money I spend stays in america, It goes like this. I pay the dealer for the car. Dealer pays utilitys on the building, pays employees and pays advertising. Utility companys pays employees, Advertising also pays employees, employees use that money to buy everything they need. My point is that all the money I spent on that car stays in america to stimulate the american economy. Thats how I see it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | american businesses are relying on patriotism to sell things now and it's sad. if they would just make a quality product people would probably buy them. I buy the best product my money can buy foreign or domestic, it doesn't matter to me what matters is the quality and some companies don't realize that and are going under.
