As long as they are sealed don't worry about it being vet sutures. Just in case you might "happen across" supplies that might have fallen off an ambulance or out of a fire house , someone will know how to properly use the stuff . If you don't want to learn all the useless stuff that wont apply in the SHTF situation , at least one person in the family should take a wilderness medic course . Either way you'll have a more realistic idea of what's truly needed . Or if you can find a dealer of old Army field manuals (FM's) get yourself a copy of FM 8-230 Combat / Medical Specialist Manual .
