Might want to add clothes in larger sizes as well. (If no emergency, they can wear them later - as they are replaced.)

Finally, started to build our Tornado/Safe Room in the basement this week. Should be finished by the end of next week and then will move in the necessary emergency supplies. Also, working on an emergency extended food pantry under the basement stairs.

I bought a generator this week when we lost power. Started shopping around for decent gas cans and a power transfer switch. Got the SO interested and we're working on a list of things to get for BOB's.

When we were trying to sleep with the power off, the storm warning sirens sounded at 12:30. We all went to the basement where we realized how much cooler it was, so we're going to look into cots for the basement.
I think the siren got her thinking.

Not a darn thing.

I do need to replace the emergency ration bars I used for my testing, and I will get only the SOS brand from now on. I also need to replace the MRE peanut butter, as I seem to have "tested" almost all of it.

I am currently living in a potentially volatile third world country, so my plans tend to be a bit more deliberate and urgent. Here’s what I did yesterday, Checked armor, cleaned weapons, rotated emergency water (desert is unforgiving to dehydration), checked emergency food, worked out, rechecked the 72hr BOB, rechecked all 4 exfil routes, checked waypoints and changed batteries in GPS, rechecked emergency med gear. I think that was it.

I’ll admit I didn’t read all the pages, so if it was already mentioned, sorry, but one I think doesn’t get near enough attention is keeping a vehicle fueled up and in a condition to go. Every time I’ve seen disaster areas, or even the threat of one, the lines at the fuel stations were nuts. Not to mention the nuts there. Just not someplace I want to visit in case of emergency.

Something I haven't been able to do since gas prices went crazy was to keep gasoline and diesel in quantity. Before the rise in gas prices I kept an extra 50 gallons on hand and 20 gallons of diesel.
