![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So it's time to rethink my Bug out bag! My cousin and I ( shockabookoo on the forum ) decided to go hiking // camping in Morgan Monroe state park. We each had 40lb packs and hiked the "Three Lakes Trail" which is a total of 10 miles. It kicked our butts, my BOB is definitely getting reconfigured. Does anyone know if it's now legal to carry on National Forest?

Lighter is better, but you may need to carry that much. I have a child that is 50 lbs. If I have to, I am dropping the pack and picking up the kid.

Start out with shorter distances and times and build up to the 40 pounds over 12 miles in X hours. Your body will greatly appreciate that. It is a big eye opener though isn't it? Makes you think do I really need that?
