I will assume that SavageEagle's post is referring to my posts, so I will explain.
I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything, just trying to provide something so that ppl can decide for themselves: facts & references (something that seems to be missing from many other posts.)

I am glad to learn about, and was generally surprised about, the seeming prevalence of (generalized) anti-vaccine sentiment in this section of the INGO community.

Yes, that's what I put in a prior post. I hear it is around $95 for the 5-day course of Tamiflu, without insurance help.

Without this vaccine. How many pregnant women have died from the regular flu, or are all women who are having babies strictly infected with H1N1 only?

This thread's topic is H1N1, that's what is being discussed. It is also the influenza A strain that is circulating now.

Also, what about the fact that ANY flu shot you take brings down your immune system? It then relys on that vaccination to fight the flu instead of strengthening itself to do it on it's own. Same with if you take cold medicine everytime you get a cold. Or you take a cough suppressent when you have too much mucus in your lungs and throat.

Now, if you have a very weak immune system, by all means, take the shot.
Pregnancy is an immune-suppressed state. The mother's immune system has to let a half-foreign-DNA organism live inside her for 9 months.

But do other things to help strengthen you immune system. WITHOUT using drugs.I totally agree with staying healthy & preventative care, which includes breast feeding (since the baby's immune system takes 6-9 months to mature), eating whole/organic foods, exercise, eating nothing processed, no smoking, etc.
