. . . . .I also the check dates on food-containers at the market. Currently many pop-top cans of very tasty canned meats, soups, fruits, desserts, p-butter, jelly, beverages, etc. are reading well into 2012. I plan to do my "Fortress Alpha" plan right here at home (4 kids and a wife) when TSHTF. I have bought many cases of MREs, but for barter. The name is a bargaining-chip on its own. But our food-stock, water, fuel, etc is stockpiled in the basement and garage. With dates into 2012, it might be fresh after Obama is "removed" from office, and certainly will be moved along the shelves when replenished, to keep fresh stuff in back: FIFO. I always buy by the case at the same place, so no eyebrows are raised. Anyomne have a better method? Fumm. Pat.
