The bus was placed there by the forest service as an emergency shelter. I believe they were towed in with 4x4's. This information is also in the book. I really do suggest it.

And Phil had it right with what I meant, this kid was a do-er. I was trying to say that I have heard people talk about going out and living off the land, even I have occasionally dreamed of living off of the land, but I nor anyone I know has went out and actually did it for an extended period of time.

People love to talk about the dream and the dreamy parts of the dream. They love the idea bugging out and living wild.

They don't love the parts of how are you going to wash the dishes, take a dump, find clean water, what are you going to eat every day for a week, a month, how ever long how are you going to carry all that food and all the guns and amo blah blah blah. The kind of logistics that kills every long distance war is also what kills most SHTF scenarios.

Then they get mad and tell me I'm just being a negative nellie so to speak.
