Mind, Body and Soul

Anybody else out there put all three into their Plan?

Re: Mind - while working outside today I spent considerable time thinking about a way to electrify my iron fence and studying sight lines to and from the house.

Re: Body - Spent the day cutting wood, splitting wood, stacking wood and carrying wood and thought how helpful it would be to shed 20 pounds! Not looking to be fit as I was in my 20s but really came to realize that if SHTF being overweight is a serious detriment. All the supplies and stockpiles will be for naught if I don't have a base level of fitness.

Re: Soul - 4 year old son constantly trying to "help". Tried explaining different trees and usage of tools and thought extensively about the need to pass on information and heritage about his deceased grandfather because my time with him is so limited our short time here.

So, Anybody else out there try to find a balance in your preparations? When I first started prepping I simply bought things that looked useful and some that were not so useful. I have found through my limited experience that thinking things through, maintaining a proper diet, and staying focused on the base reasons that I spend time preparing is much more beneficial to me than simply filling that empty ammo can. No longer so distracted by shiny cool objects but more intrigued by basic practicality.
