Should I freeze milk?

We freeze milk whenever that kroger sale comes around. Take about a small glass of milk out of the container, so you don't rupture the container once it freezes. After it is frozen, it will have a yellow look to it. That is perfectly fine. when you thaw it, just shake it up a little bit, and it will be good to go.

Powdered milk might last 6mos to a year but just barely. It oxidizes relatively quickly and gets an off, rancid taste. I've seen nitro packed powdered milk that would probably be just fine for really long term.

Yes, and most powdered milk sold in stores (cardboard box) has already used up a few of those months.

Had mine a little too long and it turned yellow and seperated - would not blend. Threw away nearly a whole box.
I think can milk might be better to store. Anyone have any experience with can milk? (condensed) Or cream?

My mom did this and it mad it taste bad. Shaking it didn't help either.

I only buy powdered/dehydrated milk in cans for the reasons mentioned above. Then once you open it, you have a limited time during which you'll need to use it all until it goes bad. The down side is that it only comes in those #10 cans, which are a little large for small families.

I think you might be able to extend the life of the opened can if you tranfer to a zip top bag and squeeze as much air out as possible. If you have one of those vacuum packer pumps, that would work even better.
