    too far from nature
I plan to take some time off in November, and I am interested in getting some training for medium to longer distance precision rifle shooting. I don't want to travel terribly far, and I fly a lot for work, so airplanes equal work for me, no thanks. I'm willing to drive up to 6 hours if necessary. Maybe a little further if the training seems like the right fit. Currently, the range that I have access to only has a 100 yard range. I have recently acquired some land where I can shoot upto 400 yards. I have no problem sighting a rifle in and hitting accurately at that set range. I would also like to have someone much better than me help diagnose bad habits. I would like to get some basic knowledge to be able to hit targets at varying ranges without having to rely on guessing. I don't need to hit anything at 1000 yards. I don't need to be a super sniper. I just want to get a start. I would like maybe a 2 day course, and I don't want to pay a rediculously high amount of money for the course.

    I will bite.

If you need someone much better than you. It is going to cost money. Ridiculously high is open to interpretation but if you need or desire something that you cannot provide what exactly is it worth and why should it be inexpensive? Why should someone take something that it took years for them to learn give you the same knowledge cheaply?

Reread your post. it reads like this. I am going to take some time off when it fits my schedule, and I want some help in a skills set that is tough to fill close to home and I don't want to pay much for it.

This seems to call for a two word response.

Plus, how could anyone be able to quantify "much better than" for someone they've never met or seen shoot?
