This sounds like an awesome opportunity. I would love to someday take a TR class, but traveling to Tenn. in June would be tough for me right now. I would love to see it go to someone like Pami that would REALLY benefit from it. Lars and Pam are good people.

Boy, I would like to put in for this, but I do not think I can go so far away at that time. Plus, I am also worried about not having enough training to make full use of the course. The amount of training I have is..... None. :rolleyesedit: Still think I'm doing fine, but I bet I'm not ready for something like this.

Wish there was a closer training facility that could be used.

You don't need to have some preset level of skill to start training. That's a common mistake too many gun owners make.

As long as you can be safe with a firearm and bring an open mind, we want you to train with us.

Tactical Response has Fighting Pistol and Advanced Fighting Pistol coming up in Seymour, IN this September but I can't give away spots in traveling classes due to our increased costs. I know Camden is a bit of a drive (I've made the trip too many times to count) but it isn't that bad.

There are other training opportunities in Indiana with Gunsite instructors being hosted at Ken Campbell's place in Boone County and Farnam and several others hosted in Rochester.

I make this point a lot but here I go again. Make training a priority and it WILL happen.

I would love to take the class!
I've got a bunch of basic pistol training such as the NRA Basic Pistol and the NRA Personal Protection classes but haven't had any opportunity to step it up by going to a more advanced class. I've been shooting and carrying a pistol for 18 years now and I'm always humbled by the amount of things I don't know and could improve on. So with this in mind I ask that I be considered also for the class. Thanks!

i would like to be considered for this free class. my primary motivation for any pistol training is to make myself a more effective armed citizen and instructor. after sitting in on a chat with james yeager, i've been curious about tactical response's approach. i can assure you that the forum will receive from me an unbiased and real after action report.
i can also say that i would be unashamed to glean any and all information that i feel appropriate for my own classes.

Shay, thanks for the information, and with this site now I believe it will be much easier to find more local training as I could find no easy place for the info before.

I'm plenty safe, and have a perfectly open mind so I should really make this more of a priority.

As a range officer at eagle creek, I have seen similar training being performed on the other areas of our range. I have been very impressed with the level of professionalism displayed, not to mention the skilled instructors giving training is quite a sight to see. I am always interested in defensive shooting and have devoted alot of time to practicing it. However, in a fight, I feel my skills would be sorely lacking. With the training I would gain from such a class (our CRO took it and he is a much different person, a better person) would allow me to not only defend myself but also become a better fighter. Train as your will fight is something I think about, but I feel my training is lacking in all aspects. Range shooting is one thing. Shooting while on the ground or being chocked is another. training for real life starts with classes like this. Experience and "book learning" are two different realms, and this class teaches both, with experience being the reinforcement to allow a man to live. I would be interested in being considered for this class.

Damn, I wrote all that, looked at my calendar and I would be the only one in the office those days. Well, is there a consolation prize? Wish the training wasnt so expensive and on the weekends.
