![]() | The reason I asked this is I was wonder how far or close I should zero my Eotech 512. I'd start with 50 yards then move up to100 yards. I understand red dot system is for CQ usages. Just wanted to know if 100 yards is too far. |

![]() | Under 25 yards? I use a handgun. I have no problem hitting the mark at 25 yards. Most of my defense is with the handgun. I just want to be able to hit the steel plate at 100 yards. I am not going to shoot someone with a knife at 100 yards. So you can zero the Eotech for 100 yards without problem? |

![]() I zero my rifles at 50 yards. You can still make hits at much longer distances.

![]() Situational awareness is what it's all about. When I teach self defense classes, I teach that self defense starts the second you walk out the door; active self defense begins when a perp is close enough to do something.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd suggest you consider what ranges you are comfortable with, given your skill level, your physical ability, and your predominant environment. What some consider "close quarters" doesn't always apply to everyone.
