![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you have the ability to choose what distance you are attacked from, why don't you just choose to not get attacked? That is like saying you only carry your gun in bad areas and only wear your seat belt when you are on the freeway. |

![]() | I just meant I am not going to smell his breath. I have practiced martial arts for nearly 20 years. I still remember the moves, I'd use my hands if I had to. But if I had a gun, then, I'd use that instead of my hands. At least the gun would keep the perp at distance. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So you're saying it's absolutely impossible for someone to surprise you and get that close? I'd say that's poor mindset. We can be as aware as possible, train in armed and unarmed defense, and only go to "nice areas" and still be forced to eat a sh*t sandwich. Nobody is superman. |

![]() | Not saying I am superman, but if I am in a bad area, my eyes would be scanning my surrounding. Years of training from Uncle Sam's agency for traveling to foreign countries had sharping my mind. But I am older now, I still think the ways I used to. Perhaps not as quick now. So, I don't walk around like I have money which I really don't have much. My trainer had said these words "Low profile is your best defense, rest is your best weapon." |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | to get what they need, they get close. no matter what attacks happen close and far often more close. crowds events daily walks suprise home invasions etc.... we have seen it, the need to use hands and guns knives and lights are critical in todays life. everyone is a MMA whana be, younger faster stronger not often smarter? why because they are practicing criminals no fear. and they are hungery, so learning to go to the gun while being hands on is very critical we just finished a CCS class and really opened up some eyes to methods of square ranges that will kill you 50-100 yards is an intermediate distance 50 -25 yards is the gray area 25-7 we start in the red zone its real 0-5 yards is the hot spot in my books, and were things get very very violent dirty nasty. often a lot of strikes and moving getting to the gun more hands on and fast dirty and ugly How do we keep guns in battery when on the ground and attackers are on us how do we fight keep to the rear. how do we draw one handed while framing to keep ourselves alive and safe from the attack when and were to deploy knives and light to create distance and what cuts to make, and when . what strikes are simple effective and wear to attack why we dont speed rock........ there is alot to it |
