![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | One of the most important things to have taught yourself in close combat is that you are going to get hurt. Does not matter wheather it is a stick, knife, or firearm. If you step into it with the understanding that you will be getting hurt it does wonders for what you will be able to do.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Let's bring "disparity of force" into the action. Every one of the folks in those pics are most likely under 40 years of age, and pretty well physically fit. I'd be interested in seeing an alternative to being situationally aware, and relying on one's senses.... that can be accomplished by a person in their mid-60's and 70% disabled. Hand-to-hand, roll on the ground, kung-fu martial arts, are great, but in many cases, age diminishes those abilities. When I was 40 yrs old, I could do that too....... but now, in my mid 60's, I'll just shoot you sooner, and from a bit farther away.

Heck I am in my mid 30's and I try to think like this. However that is not always the way it works. So people need to think in advance about how/what they are or would do if this CQB happens... I try to live by the 5 P's Pee Poor Planning Prevents Performance. ![]() Remember a good soldier always has an escape plan to kill everything that is around them... ![]()
