This came to mind as I was reading the variety of blades that some people carry. I have three knives that I carry, one more regularly than the others. However, I think I will try to get down to carrying one knife regularly and leave the others in the drawer.

Why? Because if I need to use that knife as a weapon, then I better be able to open it under stress and the best way to ensure that is to carry the same blade consistently so I am 100% used to that knife when it comes out of my pocket.

Anyway, this is a somewhat incomplete thought and perhaps a bit off topic. But just my .

knives ARE tools. a very flexable tool.

then again, i would kill someone with a pixie stick if i had to to defend my life or others, if i had to.

Well forever I have carried a Kershaw Onion. Made in the USA. I have been told that Kershaw is / has gone to / will start having their knives made complete or parts made in CHINA. That's the end of Kershaw for me. I even call Kershaw last year to confirm and the woman on the phone tried to convince me it would be the exact same quality.

Yeah Right! Exactly the same.

Mostly as a tool but if I had to I would use it as a weapon. I carry an Emerson knife with the Wave pocket opener if I know I will be heading into an area that makes me feel uncomfortable. With a little practice you can draw the knife and have it open in about a second. Very, very intimidating.

Cheap Carry

Case Sodbuster Jr., needs sharpened frequently but I use it like a "Stanley Knife". Good for most every day tasks.
