i agree. i always want to have something in hand before i make a decision, i use to work at a gun store and so many ppl would come and say what gun should i buy. i would say i have no idea what do you like and what are you going to do with it. lol they would always look at me like i was suppose to have a master guide ok your 5'9 180 lbs with medium hands lol get a glock 23, i mean thats just not how it works. i have to have it in my hands and see what feels good to me and if it doesn't well the swarms of people swearing by them can keep it.

i think that applies even more with a knife.

Buying a knive to me is a personal thing. No matter what it looks like it has to feel good in my hand and be designed/built for the job I want to use it for. I own several tanto type blade designs but I don't use them for skining a deer not because they can't skin a deer but because there are better blades for that and vide versa I don't use skining blade for prying and the things I do with the tanto type blades
