Bighorns

Thought all you hunters out there would like these bighorns, came across these just west of Cannon City out here in Colorado. The one with its ass facing the camera is a big male.

Thanks, we actually saw three herds in the same area, it was one of those times we asked ourselves why we hadn't bought a new camera when we had talked about it. All we had was a Sony Cyber-shot 3.2 megapixels with a 2x zoom.
So last week we bought a Olympus SP-570 uz , 10 Megapixel, 20x zoom.

When I lived in Colorado, I'd drive (not hike) to the top of Mt. Evans just west of Denver. It's 14,000+ feet and you'd see all kinds of bighorn sheep. They are pretty agile on those rocks and beautiful animals.

It's amazing that the bottom of the mountains aren't littered with their bodies considering where they walk and climb. When we were out at Glacier National Park (9-11-01) thats a whole different story, we saw a big male slip and started to slide down the slope but he caught himself.
