![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My first of the summer Dang... I finally shot my first groundhog of the summer. I have been hunting this farm for quite a few years, and combined with the coyotes, I thought we had most of them. Well, I finally see one near a corn field along a riverbank, dining on some of the clover and grass along the edge. Fortunately I had my Charles Daly Superior II .22 (CZ99, Rem. Model 5) one of the only rifles I own that up 'til now, had not drawn blood. The only one left, if I remember right, is my HiPoint 995. That's in the car now. Anyway, I see the one I want to go after and he takes off, and lo and behold I see another one pretty close, 30 yards or so. CD Superior II with a Zhumel 3-10x42?with side focus AO, American Eagle 38 grain HP. Great combo, the CD really likes that round. Next step is to get the 995 initiated. |
