I seen a buggy pulling a boat up MI last year. I told my buddy about it and he said B.S. Well we went to a lake the next day and had to wait about 15 minutes for am amish buggy launch their boat.

I love the amish lifestyle. I hope to later on in my life step away from the world and move into a amish community. I have some friends that are amish that I keep in contact with, nice family. I told them that any day now I will be moving into there barn. Its a great clean way of living.

Every time I tried to be polite or courteous to an Amish person, all I got in return was a dirty look.

I USED to say hello to the craftsmen when They were on the job site.... I stopped doing that.

I USED to hold the door for Amish women, just like i would for any women. I got tired of the dirty glares I got in return, so i stopped that as well.

The ones here east of Goshen seem to be pretty friendly. I wave at them going by the house all the time. THere are some that will even speak if I am close to the road.

amish pay the exact same taxes we do. all of them. i get so sick of hearing that BS.

where they come off BETTER than most english families is the amount of DEPENDANTS. when you can claim 12, you get signifgantly more in your check, if you claim them weekly.
