My place attaches to a big chunk of national forest property but most of the trespassing problems I have had did not come from there simply because it is too far to walk from where the forest begins. I did catch one guy coming out of the forest on an ATV claiming he was lost.
It was amusing to read Jack's account of the excuses people give because I have heard the same ones...I've always hunted here...I ain't hurting nothing....Billie Bob said I could hunt here 17 years ago ......who are you?
So far I have not had anybody get really militant but the transparent lies make me laugh. Found a guy hunting with a scoped, rifled barrel shotgun claiming he was hunting squirrels in October.
He was about 50 feet from his car which he had driven 300 yards past at least three signs down my log road to get to where I found him. He left when I told it would be in his best interest to leave the same way he had come.
