![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 1 hour + $35.00 = Bonding and Preparation for Bow Season That's right everyone, I finally got sick and tired of paying range fees to go bow shooting. The reality is I'm never planning to shoot indoor competitions, and I've never seen an advertisement for an indoor deer hunt. Thus I headed off to wally world and Lowes to get what I needed. I walked away with (1) hanging bag, (2) eye-bolts & (2) 75lb carabiners. After arriving home, I headed down to the workshop with my eldest boy and threw together a quick hanging bag stand. Within 1 hour of arriving home, the stand and bag were ready to go and we put about 50 shots into it. Practice distance (similar to hunt) was 35 yards shooting from a 15 foot elevation. Due to my sights being setup previously for flat ground practice, my first two shots where low, but after making an adjustment, I was good to go with the rest of the shots. I was successfully able to get 4" - 6" group even with the wind and bag swinging. Not competition quality but kill shots on a deer for sure. If you have the space and can muster up $35 - $45, I say go for it. Starting today, I can shoot anytime I please in the same area (elevations, landscape, etc) that I will hunt on. Here's a look at the target before we started shooting at it. ![]() ![]() God Bless, |
