Leftover tags? Yep. Been there, done that. It wasn't for lack of effort though.

Tag soup...the ones from Indiana aren't bad. It's the non-resident ones from the west that are really bitter to have to eat. Lotsa green went into those.

A buck & doe from Illinois cost me about $325 last year. Man I hated giving that particular state that money. I heard a buck tag from Iowa went up to $600 this year.

OTC elk in Colorado are $495 either sex. Mule deer/whitetail deer are $250, draw only. Pronghorn are $200 now, I think. Out of state tag soup makes Ruth's Chris steaks seem affordable.

I learned a long time ago, to never put a price per pound amount on hunted game. It hurts too much.
