![]() ![]() ![]() | Marlin 44 Mag...WOW!!!! I took a button buck Sun. Morn. at about 35 yrds. The bullet hit right behind the shoulder and came out mid chest on the other side. The entrance was about 1/2" exit was about 1". Man, a 44 mag out of a carbine is awesome. I was using 240 gr JSP at it definitely did it's job. Can't wait till later this week. ![]() |

These things stretched my Marlin 1894's reach out close to 200 yards!

I predict it will be a good year for the coyotes this winter.

I'll take the carbine every time. Or my 9.5" SRH which will hold a 3" group with my astigmatism. I predict FEWER deer for the coyotes because of better inherent accuracy than 1 oz. slugs. A good hunter will know the limitations of his equipment and his skills and act accordingly. Bad hunters will continue to be bad hunters regardless of any law. Just because you don't like the new law doesn't mean it's not a good one.

Your assumption is silly, I don't like a lot of things. My liking them or not doesn't make them bad or good. I don't like pickle loaf if it just came from the store. Don't make it bad, never said it did. I still don't like it if it's been laying in the sun for a week. Just because I didn't like it when it was good doesn't mean it's good when it's bad just because I still don't like it. All that pretty much represents my opinion of your 44 mag at 200 yards. Coyotes don't care if the potato salad is good or bad, they'll eat it all just the same.

![]() ![]() | Got to agree with Jack on this one. I would have concerns with a 30-30 or 32 Winchester Special at 200 yards with the Leverevolution rounds. Let alone a .44 Mag. Just cause Something can shoot that far doesn't mean it should.

I'm using BlueDot and an old loading manual. I'm only getting about 1700 - 1720fps and was thinking about bumping it up a little. Maybe switching to 2400 from blue dot.
