Don't forget guys, deer archery season opens Wednesday. Keep your eyes and ears open for archers who are terribly good at blending in. If you see them, or are notified, common courtesy is to wave and go another direction. You are scenting up their stand area.

Thanks for that info. But, on another note, how would an archer kill a deer 1.5 miles up a trail without a car/ORV? I'll keep an eye out for sure though

Depending on trail, a light fold up cart is an option. I've seen some stands that double as carts. It would be a long hike out, though.

I hope I do find a few bow hunters. I will mark the spot on GPS and come back and setup under their stand when they are gone, for pistol hunting. Let them do the hard work.

They'd kill the deer with an arrow!

Sorry Nate, couldn't resist. Seriously, you are right, most hunters will try to stay close enough for a less than exhausting drag. However, there are those who are die hard serious about trophies. They will go where the best deer are regardless. Those are the one's who will more than welcome a pesky squirrel hunter to help them drag out their deer.

If someone wants to cart a couple hundred Lbs that far, then they deserve that spot
