Posting this here is probably helpful. There are quite a few members from the Ft.Wayne area who could probably be talked into a meet up day to try their pistols. If it's something I can make it to, your welcome to try my peashooters.
I only have 3. One is a target plinker that's a .22rimfire...that one probably doesn't count.
Otherwise, I've got a .38 revolver (Smith & Wesson Airweight) and a compact .45 (Kimber Ultra Carry).

Taurus is not a crappy company. I've owned one for 10+ years and I've never had a problem.

$350 range is not a bad starting point.

Walther P22 - $349
Taurus .38 - $389

There are quite a few others in that range. Bear in mind that these are list price at the local shop and most shops will come down in price.

What are you hoping to accomplish? Daily carry? Home defense? Accuracy? Which is more important?

Just out of curiosity - what gun do you REALLY want?

You shouldnt....considering I asked. Your advice may be all I take into account. You never know. And say you didnt give me your advice, I got a crappy gun and was killed trying to shoot an invader.
