Daughter considering military - input please

I didn't take the time to read all the way thru the thread, but heck why should that stop me from adding my two bits. I am retired NAVY. 20 years and did 13 of it in the pacific/io. Even did my share in sunny southeast asia.

Now if she wants a easy way out, join the Air Force. But hey if you are looking for real easy, why join at all.

I think she should base her decision on what she wants to do job wise and then try the service that best meets that need. I mean she could join the air force and be a bus driver. She may join the Marines and be a computer specialist or the Navy may offer cryptology (my personal favorite). So each can have something to offer.

But if you just want easy, then stay home and live with mom and dad. But if your willing to sign a blank check for the amount "upto and including your life" joing the military. Go for the branch that can best meet your needs. Oh and a plug for my shallow water brothers/sisters: Don't forget to check out the Coast Guard.....
