![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | No, never happened to me. If I found out a woman didn't shoot, or didn't enjoy it when I took her to the range, she got dumped. End of story. Compatible? Doesn't sound like it to me. In my experience, different views on firearms are not just different views on firearms, but stem from different assumptions and worldviews that lead to differences on many things. Frankly, I think if the relationship would have continued you may have found you differed on a whole host of subjects from politics, to child raising, etc. Consider yourself lucky. The relationship ended before you were so emotionally involved you couldn't think objectively. My guess is that after you're happily settled down (if that's your goal), you'll be thankful. |

"I've got something to tell you" -ok?- "What would you say if I told you that I carry a gun?" -no big deal to me, I just assumed you did. My brothers are cops, it's just a given in our family.- "SCORE" Of course, it helps that my wife was my first "real" girlfriend...so not much experience with other women. -J-

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My wife was kind of the same. Needless to say, we've been married for 5 years and a few suppressors and machineguns later, she's come to accept me for who I am....lol

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Never had that problem out of all the girls I dated, but from rural Scott County what do you expect. And my wife actually enjoys guns, she just threatens to divorce me when I spend money on more and tells me I have to many. Tell me everybody, is it time for a new one(gun or a wife)? ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | I guess it depends on what age you're looking for a girl. If, at 40, I found myself in the position of being out there dating again... I believe I would be ok with them being freaked out as long as they're not adamant about it. I might be freaked out by some of the things they've developed as interests in their first 3 or 4 decades. A willingness to be open and adapt to a person's interests would be necessary. If I was twenty-three again, out there looking, most of that age-group women are going to be fresh out of school. Academia is a weird, socially-insulating environment that tends heavily toward the liberal-intellectual and avoiding some of the harsh realities of everyday life. Trust me... that idealist girl of 22 will have a very different outlook given another few years and, absolutely, after childbirth. NOTHING will turn a sweet, demure, turn-the-other-cheek young lady into a raging killer than motherhood and the thought of someone hurting her little one. If she left just because of the issue of owning guns, I'm suggesting to you there were other reasons. Be content she is gone and move on. I'm also suggesting all of you young men to not be so harsh about that young, cute anti- in the window. Time and maturity changes many things as long they understand you will have your own opinion and make your own choices. Pami - Didn't she write about crying as she stared at the P-22 sitting on the bed, newly acquired by Lars, as she was afraid of guns?? Look at her now. NOT the same viewpoint in the pink hat and the AR.

![]() ![]() ![]() | If she wasn't willing to accept your hobbies, she's not worth it. I mean what if you said to her you didn't want to get into a long term relationship with someone who would watch chick flicks, paint her nails, wedding planning, weddings, shoes, watch project runway or such? She'd dump you for trying to tell her what to do, wait for somebody more accepting, you'll be much happier without someone who's judging you every day you bring them out!
