![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Rings n' Things Hey shooter chicks, Do you wear rings 24/7? If so, and if they are loose enough to twist around, do you worry about them scratching up your gun when you're practicing? Or do you take them off? Just asking because I just broke ring #2. To be fair, I've worn it every day since the fifth grade (and the first one had been worn ever since I was 16 and it was already 60+ years old when it was handed down to me). I started wearing different ones because it feels funny *not* to wear rings there, but one of them is fairly bumpy/scratchy with the gem stones raised up. Just wondered what the rest of you chickadees do.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The only time I take my wedding ring off is when I'm at the gym because it hurts my finger when I use certain types of weight grips. I don't worry about the diamonds scratching my gun (I really don't worry about much of anything scratching my gun, actually), but I do sometimes worry that the grip will scratch the gold in my ring.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Annie, that's a really interesting thought.. My wife wears her rings when she shoots, under the premise that she wears them most of the time, and if something happened and she needed to shoot she would most likely have her rings on. Most of the well-photographed competition shooters, from a quick google image search, seem to be ring free. I don't know if the concern is for the ring, firearm itself, or grip, or if it's merely a random occurrence, but there ya go.. |

It has gotten scuffed and scratched up pretty good. My wife tends not to wear her rings when she shoots (but hers are more fragile and she wears lots more of 'em).

| Sharpshooter | I don't wear rings, but my Grandpa wore a ring every day from 1926 until he died in 1957. ...of course it was his World Series ring from playing with the Cardinals in 1926, though. Anyone who has a earned a World Series ring is going to be wearing it! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Annie, you beat me to it. I wear em unless I'm playin in the dirt too. If I'm out hunting with the hubby, I don't wear them because they can cause reflections/glares that can spook the deer. If I'm at the range, sure I'll wear em. Like Bubbajms wife said... "if something happened and she needed to shoot she would most likely have her rings on". |
