Hoo-Boy they're pricey on those 2 sites though! Just ordered warm-looking neck gaiter & the "ultra fitted"pants. We'll see! (how can polyester make good fabric????) |
Please, be VERY careful around heat sources with fabrics like polyester and polypropylene. It's basically plastic and will melt and STICK if exposed to high heat. It is hard to extinguish if lit, and the melted fabric...well, you get the idea. Stay back from open campfires, sleeves away from lanterns and campstoves, and even beware of hot appliances. Even the military is aware of the burn hazard. I've just now seen military poly clothes treated with a fire retardant/"slo-melt" treatment, but I haven't seen any for civilian use yet. And still, it melts, just more slowly.
My wife and I about lost a friend because of this. He was burnt pretty badly because of an accident in the cook tent where he was hunting at. They dug melted poly out of him for a month after the accident, and he still bears scars from the incident.
