Do you happen to remember the distance of that range?
Man thats pretty far, so far I've only been to a 100yrd range.
Nice!At Frindship there is an NRA steel range. it is 200=300-400-500 meters respectivly.
So the 500 meter is about 550 yards. Hoever it is black powder only.....
i believe bass and bucks is 1000 and youngs is 1200 but dont quote me on those numbers. ive never been to either
where are you from. there may be shorter ranges closer to you (shorter as in 100-300yd ranges. also what are you shooting
I am not a member. The owner of Flint Gunshop helps process membership and gave me details. I don't know if there are even people there all the time or not but I would guess you would have to bring along a friend for spotting but don't quote me. As far as the when the range goes cold I would guess if you're not shooting steel then whoever is on the line would have to agree when to go cold to go check targets. I believe he said there are around 200 members but not for sure it has been a few months since I talked to him. To me it wouldn't be bad since I'm twenty minutes away and could shoot there regularly. So if I go 10 times a year it would be approximatley the same as atterbury.Wow, I had no idea that Youngs was that expensive. It only costs 20 to 30 dollars to shoot a 1000 yard match at Camp Atterbury or Camp Perry.
Plus you get target pullers and quick feedback on your hits at a match. In other words, meaningful feedback.
So at Youngs, you shoot some shots at a target, then the line is called cold, you "gater" on down to check your target? So what do you do if you have no hits? What do you adjust off of? Do you even have a spotter behind you to help you out?
Sounds like an exercise in frustration to me.
I guess its a way for someone to make some money if he doesn't feel like farming I guess.
