I always get out of the way when anyone gets behind. Good job officer.

No. The driver is left not knowing what they were doing wrong. Instead they were scared, attempted to pull over, and got punked. The enforcer got a laugh, the citizen learned nothing about adjusting his/her driving habits to make the roads safer for all.

It's amazing how many LEO I see DAILY that speed in the school zone on Churchman Ave in Beech Grove...right next to their station...sure other drivers do it too, but it is quite hypocritical to see them race into the station, and later stake out the very same area they speed in.

I don't like the tailgaiting, but damn, I'd like to see tickets given for going slow in the left lane. So many people seem to think that lane is just another choice.

"Oh look, honey, there's lots of lanes! I think I'll drive in this one over here and look around and maybe make some calls on my cell phone!"

For all that's holy, if you don't want to drive fast, there are two or three lanes for you! Pick one of those!

There isn't enough rep in the world for this post. :yesway: +eleventy-billion

I say good job! He got the car to pull over into the slow lane where they could actually go slow without causing a traffic hazard. He didn't need to pull her over and give her a chewing...although she probably deserved it. Drivers who drive slow in the fast lane cause rolling road blocks, aggravating other drivers, and are generally contributing to unsafe roads. The officer saw an unsafe driver, he pulled up behind her hoping that she would get a clue, and when that didnt work, he took it to the next step. There was no abuse of authority there.

If they were 5 over and they were still impeding traffic he messed with the wrong car. If they were 5 under he was correct. Solved the problem and kept going. Tailgating part was unnecessary showboating. And dangerous to boot.

Was the driver actually driving slow, or were they obeying the speed limit? Since all the other traffic appeared to be moving at the same speed, it looks to me like that's the case.

Looks like the cop wanted to speed and wanted the road cleared for him. Notice how he turns off the rollers as soon as the other driver has moved to the lane the officer wants him in. No different than the cops who run red lights because they can, not because they are on a run.

If the "slow driver" had been going 10 over when the officer wanted to go 20 over, what are the odds that a speeding ticket would have been issued?

Sorry if I'm rambling, it looks to me like a cop harassing someone for behaving in a legal manner. Not really much different than being harassed for carrying a gun.

Again, my opinion is just that, and only based on what I could see in the video.

If they are going to a call, maybe they should put their lights on the whole way.

If they plan on speeding, tailgating, changing multiple lanes without signaling, and driving recklessly, then they should use the emergency lights. Otherwise the law supposedly applies equally to them. Follow it, or use the lights.

Once the car is out of the way, drive on. Quit acting like an ass.

He could have just flipped his lights. Then she would have got the point and moved out of the way. Where was the need to ride her ass within inches of the bumper?

I definitely would have gotten a ticket for following too closely...

Nope. Speed limit has nothing to do with the left lane. Tailgaiting was dangerous and unecessary, agreed. But being over the limit has nothing to do with the left lane.

In my State of Colorado, there are two signs you'll see regulating the left lane.

    1. Slower Traffic Keep Right
    2. Keep Right Except to Pass

Neither one says anything about the speed limit.

Ohhhh I see. That's probably why I see some of the LEOs with bumper guards on their cars. Just in case they get a little to close while "drafting".

It's a win-win then. They save on fuel and vehicle damage. Awesome.
