What the hell have I been doing all these yrs. buying ammo in bulk!?! You can buy ammo individually?...you mean one at a time? What does the packaging look like?

We keep a small parts bin at the shop, filled with loose ammo separated by caliber and priced per round; folks request it more often than you might expect. They buy a derringer and don't want to buy a box of 25 or 50 rounds (I guess that's "in bulk" when your gun only holds two!), or they buy a small pocket revolver or auto and just want to buy enough ammo to fill the cylinder or mag so they can carry it home...

I can't remember the exact wording but I was at the Willow Slough Range and there were about 10 bangers there with their AKs and SKSs and one of them must of had a good sale because he had a nice shiny new AR.
Anyway I got setup and after shooting a 30rd mag out of my M&P15 two of them come walking over, the following is the best I can remember.

I look it over and see nothing wrong with his brand new Colt M4Clone. Pop a mag in it and take 10 shots down range (100yds) at my targets. After hitting every one I hand it back to him and tell him I don't see anything wrong with it.

Sheet man yeah yous got to fire it fast to see if it any good man it might be working ok slow like dat but I be betting you aint gonna hit none dem targets fast it just don't be shooting right fast.

He hands it back to me and hands me another 10rd mag (clip in his words), I hand him back the mag and tell him to have one of his boys put up one of their COM targets.
After the range is clear I pop in a 30 rd mag and proceed to eliminate the COM target.
Tell him to have one of his boys go get it. We count 28 holes and 2 of those looked like double holes.

Damns man thats crazy an sheet yous be hitting everythang you must be a cop or sumthang fo sure.

I told them I had to go and packed up my stuff I was starting to feel outnumbered and outgunned. I offered to give him $500 for the gun.

ok, speaking of idiots at the range I have to ask. Has anyone else been to a range and actually witnessed someone shooting their handgun sideways at their target?

I saw it at Don's once (big suprise) and they acted like something was wrong with the gun. Yeah, can't be because you're an idiot.

As stupid as it it, it actually has a logical explanation. Sideways shooting was invented for "Drive by shootings" So when the shoot was moving on a horizonal plane the recoil would work in there favor as the move through the target! Has no practical application for standing at the range though!

Either way it makes you look like a jackass, like letting your pants hang past your asscrack!

Talking about holding a pistol sideways. I done it once and was told not to dit it again. Then a doctor came up to the range instructor and me. Said it is acutally a very good idea. When you turn the gun sideways, it brings something like 18 more muscles into play. Thus with a little practice, should make you much more accurate
and steady. But I never tried it again.

I have this happen quite a bit. The pants hanging past my asscrack. But that usually means I need to either tighten my belt or get a new one cuz my old one dun failed!
