I didn't know those in the government were going after shotguns. Are shotguns illegal in Washington, D.C.? Is there any reason he didn't carry an AR? I know you may not know the answers to these questions, but I'm just wondering.

    Good questions.

I would assume the shotgun isn't registered, I would also assume Adam isn't licensed in DC. Two felonies right there. Open carry would be another, then having it loaded would be another.

Transporting is a crime in DC as well, strike number 5.

I would assume he lined up at least one lawyer before doing this and I'd bet they told him a shotgun was the best way to do it as it limited the other laws he would be break in regards to pistols or "assault" rifles?

Perhaps his 'team' is looking for a free speech angle? Perhaps to demonstrate the double standard of other 'journalists' holding prohibited items in the district?

Donno, I have a feeling we'll find out though. It's unlikely the DC police will take this lying down.

It's a proverbial shot across the bow...

Well...time will tell what happens, but I think it's a ballsy move for him. I'm sure it wasn't an intelligent move, but there is definitely something to him choosing a pump shotgun. Perhaps a double barrel would have been more fitting. The lawyers will be battling about this, and it'll get his show some national attention....guaranteed.

There is no carry in DC. Rifles, Shotguns, or Pistols.... no carry.
Transport to your home from the FFL, transfer from home to range, and that's it.
I think that was part of Emily Miller's series.

Thanks. I was on my phone and could not look up their laws. It still baffles me why he chose to carry a shotgun, though. :dunno:

Looking at the comments on the video, there are some who suspect he shot the video on a different day, but that doesn't mean anything. However, one said he was miles away from the Capitol. I am not very smart about the area's geography, but can one shoot a video like that in Virginia and still see the buildings in D.C., in the background? I know I'm grasping at straws, but something just doesn't seem right.

Right or [STRIKE]Left[/STRIKE] wrong, it does show a large degree of testicular fortitude.

I hope it goes well for him.

Amazing how the seat of a government that is supposed to be constrained by the Constitution denies a fundamental right. And people wonder why I absolutely despise the tyrannical federal government. Our founding fathers would already be rallying the people if they were alive today.

they easily do it easily when there are no repercussions and some of the people are on their side.

In the series "Emily Miller gets her gun", Emily chronicles how hard it was to get a gun, just for the house. Then the police had incorrect information on getting the gun home, and taking it to the range.

If you read her series, you will appreciate Indiana laws a little better. Not saying there's not room for improvement here, but...... just read.

I followed Emily and all I can say is why would ANYONE want to step foot into that cesspool called DC let alone live there. I can tell you this, I have never and I will never step foot there spend a penny there, and would rather throw a bucket of my own excrement on the White House lawn.

DC, as a city, is a great place to vist, don't think you'll ever see more history anywhere. Some solemn places as well. Everyone should go once, then decide. As for the occupants of DC, well...thank God most are transients.
