That fence would be costly for him to replace or repair. Leo must follow up on those charges.

I think the husband was thinking how fun it would be to build a privacy fence so they have all the privacy they want to hunt the deer on their own property for a change and any holes in the newly erected "fence" would be additional proof that it is still an ongoing issue.

near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
Where is this thread? I have GOT to read this.

    Deleted. The short story is:

Guy on InGO catches relative stealing his kid's xmas presents.

    Thread blows up here.

4chan gets hold of the story.

    Relative's house is torched.

    Thread gets deleted here.

Lots of mystery surrounding the whole thing. This was like 5-6 years ago.

I opted not to read all 29 pages so perhaps this has been floated already. State Police. I'm not sure what's happening with the sheriff but he's wrong. A shooter is responsible for where his bullet lands and it does not have to be lodged in someone to be a problem. Not only is this within the jurisdiction of the SP but the sheriff and his office are also subject to investigation by the ISP should they deem it needful.

Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer. In 1832 when Black Hawk's Sac tribe killed settlers in NW Illinois in a bid to stay in his village on the Rock river area near Galena, Mr Lincoln became Captain Lincoln of the Illinois mounted militia who rode forth to smite the Sacs who were rampaging out of control.

He did not think about filing a suit against these people who were killing and stealing across the frontier.

He picked up his rifle, saddled his horse, and rode out to subdue the indians along with Lt Jefferson Davis of the regular army. Colonel Zachary Taylor was also involved in the campaign.

We have become a nation of wimps that are unwilling to stand up for themselves. you would really think a lawyer can resolve your problems for you?

I say it again. Shoot back. Own your land and your life. Take control back from evil.

Proof positive that an online forum is a terrible place to get to know someone. Last time I saw you commenting on a post, you were advocating CC rather than OC in order to prevent the possibility of alarming a bus driver. Now you want a property owner to shoot at a neighbor in order to "own your land and your life."? You, sir, are obviously a complex and multi-faceted thinker!

Ummmm , what does CC or OC'ing on a bus have to go with having an idiot neighbor shooting bullets at you and your property?

I'd get a lawyer. Or, we could have a fun year end Mosin shoot at your place.

Normally, perhaps nothing. But taken in context (which requires reading full sentences and perhaps processing a thought) I would have thought sloughfoot to be of a bit less adversarial nature. Obviously I, am not! Had you bothered to check before responding, it was not on a bus but at a bus stop. The point (dot...dot...dot) was that the impression of a guy from one forum discussion does not give a full picture of his attitudes no matter how fervently he promotes a particular point of view.

I have police reports and it does appear that the last officer to visit the neighbor did advise them to stop shooting until a proper backstop is in place. I have a call in to the DNR for their reports but they never answer their phone apparently so had to leave a voice mail. I also have several names of local foresters now through both the DNR and through Purdue and will be obtaining estimates. More calls to be made.

Quiet today...no deer in sight and only coyote tracks that appear to be fresh so at least hubby has something to shoot at out there. Not exactly meat for the freezer but less damage to my poultry and less likely to lose more of my cats if he takes them out.

I thought it was UNlawful, to shoot across a road .....

It is.....but he was shooting on his property, the bullets were hitting on his property about a foot before the road. So technically it was legal, however I knew and I'm sure when the DNR saw it he knew the bullets were most likely going across....he would be liable for any damage after his bullets left his property. Ya...what a idiot right.

Yikes!! Can't figure out if I like ya or if you're just dumb. Not that the two are mutually exclusive!
LOL compared to most everyone here , I'd be licking the windows on the short bus! But that's ok, I've got personality! But I do appreciate the cool kids letting me play.
