    Thread tl;dr.

    More evidence that the hippies in Oregon have no balls. Nothing a baseball bat and a plastic grocery sack dropped into the garbage would not have solved.

    Inconceivable that keeping this cat was more important than the safety of their child.

    My wife and I bought a puppy when we moved in together a year before our wedding. He is our "first kid". I still remember the nervousness as we had our first child....as much as we loved that dog, if he had shown ANY hostility toward our baby he would have been gone the next day. Fortunately he didn't and protects his "puppies" with a vengeance.

    I read the article on another news site. The comments were almost universal in their condemnation of the man, for kicking the cat. A few comments blamed the 7-month old for starting it by pulling on the cat's tail. I am not saying it is ok to pull the cat's tail but a 7-month old doesn't understand that. I can understand a quick "shoo" with a foot to get the cat away from the child because in my world: child > cat.

    After that, however, I lost all empathy toward the guy. A 22 lb cat trapped him and his family in the bedroom and the police had to rescue them. Really? If a cat traps me in the house and I need to be rescued, call Marlin Perkins because it is bigger than a tabby.

    Did'n read it,but tend ta agree.......sumbody kik you full-on square in'a nutz......be a lil' PIZZ'd when ya got all'a yer shizz back in 1 pile, would'n ya?....:dunno:

    I can just see when the cops open the bedroom door;
    Cop: "So where's this big p***y?"
    Woman: "Out there, in the living room."
    Cop: "Ya, ya, I already saw the cat."

    I can't sit here and read the whole thread. or tell if serious or NOT ... I vote nerf dart or water.

    unless we're talking a wild aminal. I mean seriously. I've had cats and even had one bite once:
    (Note give cats baths immersed in tub is not advisable ... and no that's not supposed to be purple ... BTDT)

    really?

    It's a freaking cat, not a bear. I grew up with a cat, and as a kid I have pulled the cat's tail and got scratches and bites from it. My parents didn't barricade themselves and me when it happened, think they called it a lesson on not being an instigator.

    Being a guy with 6 cats in the house (wife's cats, not mine) it's easy to see the problem here. That cat is the alpha in that house. It probably has been served and catered to it's whole life and quite rightly believes itself to be the dominate leader of it's pride.

    Wherever cats are, it's very important that there is SOMEBODY there to abuse them. If not, they will take over and this could happen.

    My gf had 5 cats indoors, thank god she moved back to Noblesville.....i don't know what was more annoying, the cats themselves or the fact they were named all after Greek gods and goddesses
