I saw a story on Fox59 this morning where a group of them were presenting the manager of a Kroger store a binder full of signatures of folks demanding Kroger end the practice of OC in their stores. The manager, with a camera and a bunch of mad mothers staring at him, said (in so many words) no thanks, we're going to follow state law. Our customers are divided on this issue and we don't want to take sides...so go blow it out of your ***es. OK, he didn't say that last part but I don't know if I could have resisted.

Starbucks before, Kroger now, who's next? It's time for businesses to tell all groups that would petition their stores/businesses to effoff. None of your business. You don't like it, don't shop here. State, Federal and local law should be the standard for all businesses - why pick a side in politics - you can't win.

It's really refreshing to see management of such a large and well known business not go wobbly under this sort of pressure. It seems all too common for companies to give in to get along.

I saw a comment on the MDA site when I was there. Paraphrasing, i have given up shopping at walmart until they start paying their workers a living wage anyway so they are a lost cause. So GFGT is probably right...

...Instead, do something simple like thank them and shop there. You can send a note via their contact link here, or do as I did and personally thank a store manager. Let MDA make this political. Instead, we should show more class, thank them for their support and support their business.

    Done! Thanks for the link.
This whole thing is just ridiculous! How dare these women try to remove my right to protect myself and my children? They obviously have no life experience to smack them on the head and explain WHY people carry. Sometimes it can be a big bad world out there and you have to choose how to fight a predator and not be prey. Let them have their life threatened, let them be stalked, let them be followed from appointments or work, or "randomly" run into an ex that lives in another state (and has an undiagnosed personality disorder). I don't break any laws, I don't make any rude comments, I don't ruffle any of their pretty feathers. What I do do is choose to proactively protect myself from real threats...stuff that in your petition and smoke it. [rant over]:xmad:

I knew I liked the cut of your jib.....:yesway:

This is a power move by a bunch of self appointed self important lib nut jobs. If we stop bending to their will they will loose funding and have to go back to terrorizing their family's.

I'd say you should tell that to the "ladies" of MDA, but they'd report your comment, and ignore you.

LOL...I thought it was because I came along to the 1911 way of thinking...

These gals just have no actual life experience. That's what gets my dander up more than anything! Why can't we fight fire with fire? Let's hand them the truth and see if they squirm. Stick a camera in the face of any woman at the Jullian Center and ask them how they shop for their groceries? Do you have an armed guard? Do you have someone that rides along with you from place to place to keep you safe? Would Carmel Barbie like to drive her BMW down to the more humble neighborhoods to pick of one of those gals and take them grocery shopping every week once their policy change proposal goes into place? The truth of the matter is sometimes less popular but far more compelling.

This post made me remember something a young man said to me that was dating my daughter. He was from the center grove area. You know where we live. He was sitting on the porch and we were discussing High School sports as he was a football player. Big fella. A group of youths walked by wearing the "Uniform" of those who lead the life style. This freaked him out. He was amazed I did not pull my side arm and deal with the eminent threat. He was truly disturbed.
Point here is perspective. If you are a Carmel Barbie these things are truly foreign. there can be no relative perspective of how the other 90% of us live.

Exactly. To your point, went to the Colts game yesterday (was blessed to have someone give us tickets) and of course had to disarm for the game. We park far enough away for the $10 parking in yards, so we were walking through the "more humble neighborhoods" as was discribed. There I was, with my lady, no gun, no knife, just my SA. The walk there - not too bad. The walk back after the game...a little more attentive to detail around me. Why? Because the NFL disarms their fans even though some venues are near or in "humble surroundings". I'm sure the MDA ilk park next to the stadium - the rest of us don't.

At least you can just choose to not go to a game. They want us to be like that all the time.
