This just makes you shake your head. Why is Turkey reticent to get in the game? Well, they traded IS prisoners for hostages, for one.

And that town that they "promised" to help defend? Kobane? Yeah,it's about to fall to IS and Turkey is nowhere to be found. These guys had better crap or get off the pot. When that town falls IS will control a huge swath of the Syria/Turkey border and it will make digging them out a lot tougher.

Turkey is playing the "enemy of my enemy" card. They have had problems with the Kurds for many years and won't extend a finger to help them now.

Turkey thinks they'll be immune to ISIS if they stay out of it. ISIS only cares about what ISIS wants and needs. Money and murder is all they know.

And when they don't? The choice is teach the irresponsible children a lesson by letting ISIS become more powerful?

I disagree that we stand to lose little. History is pretty clear on that.

The only reason ISIS even speaks of America is our long standing meddling in the region. Taking jurisdiction yet again will only prove thier point and attract more people to thier cause.

Its sad that the entire region is waiting for the world police to show up and save the planet from evil.

I'm not sure there's an ounce of truth in either of these sentences. But even if there were, it doesn't address my question.

Its sad that the entire region is waiting for the world police to show up and save the planet from evil.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait just a minute. Which is it? If the whole planet is at risk, why don't we have the justification to take action? On the flip side of that same coin, why should just one part of the world be responsible for protecting all of the planet?

    Could be anywhere
With the changes to the constitution in Turkey they are no longer a modern country. They should be evicted from NATO. Their presence, and any wars they drag us into will be not in the best interests of any of the other alliances members.

If Turkey invades Syria to topple the Assad regime expect them to immediately be at war with Iran.
