Due to unforseen circumstances, I'm in the process of repairing vehicle #2 in less than a year. Actually, #1 was totalled. #2 was a broken lower control arm, CV axle, wheel bearing and inner tie rod plus a front bumper. #2 was caused by a under 10 mph bump to the concrete base of a light pole. I fixed the mechanical part myself because it was less than my deductible. I'll get a bumper after the snow is gone.

I finished the work tonight and even got the bumper patched up.

I guess it's not so bad. The Mrs. and I have been together since 1999 and this is the first major accidents she been in.

So what has your spouse, kids or you wrecked lately?

Unfortunately, my wife rolled her van a year ago after sliding on black ice on the interstate. She was taken to the hospital for observation and fortunately she wasn't hurt. However, a state trooper gave her a ticket while she was in the emergency room for excessive speed. Go figure, she was doing about 50 in a 70 and was unable to see the black ice in the dark until she was already on it, ended up totaling her van, and then got a ticket in the emergency room. Yep, that was a good day alright. I should've bought a lottery ticket with that luck.

In 12/14, a deer stepped out in front of my wife and the collision totaled the Pontiac Vibe she was driving. She loved that car, so we bought another used one a couple of weeks later. By the following February, she collided with a SUV during on a slick, snowy day, and totaled that one. She's done with Vibes now.

I have never had a spouse wreck incident. Of course never having been married improves my chances of a clean escape considerably!

Bad enough day already and she has to deal with a trooper who wears a tie to keep his foreskin from crawling up his neck. Lovely.

I had a girlfriend drop my motorbike that I was trying to teach her on. Only a small bike. It pushed the headlamp in, but didn't break it. She was mad when I was more worried about the bike than her, but I could see she was OK and basically stepped off as it fell! :)

Agreed. Unless she caused other damage or harm to other motorists, the ticket was a dick move. Let it go, dude. Let her deal with the injuries, and the DOT will bill her for any of their crap that gets damaged (at least they did my late father when he did about the same on 465, damaging a guardrail.

Spouse dropped her Harley as well...........twice.

I bought Mrs Glue a 1200 Sportster and let her know she shouldn't ride it while I was out of town because I needed to change the tire and inspect everything. She decided it wouldn't hurt to take a little ride. Well a couple kids in a beat up Honda with the "Super Cool Chrome Muffler" hanging out the back was coming towards her in a curve and crossing the center line as she was turning right at a stop sign.

She decided to get off the road and go into a church yard. When she hit the sand and loose gravel she lost the front wheel. The punks in the car kept going but a nice guy stopped to help her stand it back up. She was embarrassed so she told him she was ok and he left. She then pushed it about 100 feet across the Church yard to the parking lot.

A couple guys on bikes saw her stopped in the parking lot and came over to check on her. She started it up and they followed her home to make sure she made it ok. The handle bars were bent and crooked but she rode that bike home. (Super Proud of Her)

I had all the parts to fix it and repainted the tank, then sold the top heavy bike. I upgraded her to a Road King then to the Street Glide Special she has now. She is one of the best riders that I have ever rode with.

Al that she ended up with was some pretty good road rash on her arm. The full face helmet she was wearing had some nasty scrapes and gouges in it. I'm glad she had it on to save her pretty little head.

It's amazing how the idiots seem to all come out while riding your bike. I see that all of the time, especially in the summer. It's good to see there are still some nice guys out there that stopped to help your wife.

I would love to have a dollar for every time I have been driving on the highway musing about how much fun a bike sounded like and before completing the thought have some idiot make me thankful to have a semi and not a bike. I never did try a motorcycle.

I wish that I could contact them to thank them for making sure she was safe but I guess they were Guardian Angels.

Yep. You always have to watch for everyone and for obstacles as well when riding. It is a lot of fun, but you always have to be vigilant.
