Anybody want to donate to the "we need a roof" fund?

As soon as the wife's car is repaired, think a ball joint is going out. And then I need to get my 10month old through his teenage years, he's going to eat a ton (been in the 92% for height, 50% for weight, and he has a beach ball for a head like his dad).

My son has always said he has a ginormous head. Ginormous is his favorite word I think.

We are waiting on the roof estimate. Hubby was thinking $8K. I'm thinking double that based on what I am seeing online for what he wants and to replace the skylight. I hope I am wrong.

Decisions will have to be made...reshingle or do the metal roof. If it is twice what it would be to shingle it, it would be worth it since it will last longer than two shingle roofs. And....we won't have to deal with a new roof 20 years down the road when he is in his 80's and budget may not allow it.

Pray for hail and let insurance buy you a roof?

Insurance won't cover it. They sent us a letter saying our roof is beyond the expected life span of the shingles...zero coverage on the roof currently.

It's a legitimate size of head. One where you will never be able to walk into a store and buy a fitted hat off a rack... "But we can order one for you (assuming there's enough material to wrap around that globe)"

That sucks. Insurance bought me a new roof, siding and gutters a couple years ago.
