You know those pants that kids wear with all the chains, straps and loops?
They're usually super baggy and are half falling down...
They mostly look like this net find:

    Black%20and%20White%20XS%20Tripp%20pants%20002.jpg

Today, a kid was running past me wearing something very similar and you could hear him long before you could see him..."stealth pants" they are not.
Clickity ching clickity ching clickity ching...

I was so sorely tempted to to reach out and grab one of the flailing straps or chains and [STRIKE]cause[/STRIKE] "witness" a total face plant.
    I resisted the urge.

Well, except for the noise, they seem kinda tactical.:):

Probably best that you resisted the urge. ;)

I find this thread hypocritcal. We don't want to be looked at as gun toting psychos just because we carry guns. Yet, it's ok to turn around and judge people just because they dress in a way you find obscure? That's hardly fair. :noway: Annie.

Well, we don't WANT to be viewed as gun-toting psychos, but that doesn't stop some from viewing us that way. More important we don't go out of our way to prove that particular view.....more to the contrary. Political correctness is one thing, but viewing the outward appearance of another is WELL within my right, and everyone else's to approve or disapprove of. I am under NO obligation to be fair to anyone until I feel the need to do so. When I meet another person, I judge, profile, evaluate, and decide........ I have met some, dressed in clothing like is being discussed in this thread, and they were ok folks. But that was determined AFTER the fact. I don't have to like your appearance to get along with you, but if your mode of dress puts me off at first, that's my right, just as much as it's your right to dress that way. "If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck , and sounds like a duck".... well, you know.

I may shake my head at your displayed mode of dress, but you will not be able to tell if I'm a gun-toting psycho, because I don't flaunt it in your face..... Unless your mode of dress precedes actions many times associated with folks who dress that way.... in which case you will certainly take me off your "friends" list.

I have learned to choose my battles over this topic. My youngest son who turns 17 this week likes to wear what I call girl pants. Drives me a little nuts I must say. However, he loves to go to the range with me and is a pretty good shot. He is a musician in a fairly successful band ( also don't care for the music but that is another rant ) and gets A's and B's in an advance placement/ honors high school program. The pants just don't bother me any more. Oh and by the way, I think I understand why they call them girl pants.....it's not because it makes him look like a girl....

*shrugs* I do my best not to judge people by their actions, not their outward appearance.

I once new a guy that was a biker, covered head to toe in tatoos. He shaved his head and even had them on his head. Rowdy lookin guy, got weird looks a lot. He was a friend of my mom's not sure how they knew each other. But he was also one of the nicest people I've ever met, a vietnam vet, and a federal agent.

I met him about 10 years ago, but it really instilled in me to not judge a book by its cover. :twocents:
