Nope you can even ask my Bro ATFConsumer, whose views on things political align closer to yours than mine, what I have always said about O'Reilly.
Just cause people call him a Conservative doesn't make him one. I'm sure you agree that he is not, but you like to label him that for your own agenda for this story.

Quite correct...O'Reilly caters to the populous for ratings...he always is in line with what gains him viewers. He is anything but a conservative.

He calls himself a conservative, but I see him more as an individual that doesn't care crap about the constitution. I seriously think he is one of the biggest problems for FoxNews. He always has some sex type topic in his program because it keeps a viewer base that would otherwise not watch and plus, the old man is just a pervert.:noway:

Let's see...he calls himself a conservative. Fox News calls him one. Townhall.com lists him as one and so do 1.8 million Google hits. Of course when he puts his foot in it he's a "populist". Yeah. Thanks for the laugh, indeed.

Bill calls himself a Libertarian... as does Glenn Beck

Is O'Reilly and Beck doing some sort of tour together?
If they come to Indianapolis I want to know who here is going. I need to know who the suckers are that are going to pay good money to see these shmucks.

I always thought O'Reilly comes across as smug. I am sick of hearing him say.."But I went to Harvard". He is a better alternative than watching Olberdumb.

Bill was against the dems when they Republicans were in total power and softened a little on Obama and Hillary when they rode in. He isnt a dummy, he doesn't want to get labeled a liberal basher like Sean Hannity. He needs to get asked to be on shows like the View and Oprah to sell his books. Hannity will never be asked on anything.

I personally like to watch Glenn Beck. He is over the top but some of the things he points out make sense. He seems to really care somewhat and I think he calls both sides out. You can tell he think palin is an idiot.

With that said I can see a sex scandal or something in his future.

Scutter01 flunked out in Reading class.

"Why would you need a gun in an emergency? " has NOT A THING to do with "You have a God-given Right to a gun (et al) at all and any times." But maybe SC-01 was talking purple, and I'm NOT. $3.00

I've had the pleasure of appearing on The O'Reilly Factor a few times and have met Bill O'Reilly several times. He is a genuinely smart and savvy guy who is steadfast in his contempt for corruption, regardless of which side of the aisle it eminates from.

Having said that, the last word I would use to describe him is Conservative. He is not a Constitutionalist either, as he sees a role for government in our everyday lives. I might call him a New York Conservative, which really means a liberal that's tough on crime. What he want is a corruption-free government that works for the interests of "the folks", instead of its own self interest.

Um, R. Lee Ermy is not just a "bobble-headed Holly-would-be hero."

Marine R. Lee Ermy served honorably in Vietnam, saw actual combat (Combat action ribbon awarded to those who actually participated in ground or surface combat). He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) before being medically retired due to injuries suffered during his tours in Vietnam.

    He's walked the walk.

:wow: Six posts and your set off a firebomb, Gunny as he is affectionately called is a true to life decorated Marine, and even though I never served in any of the armed services, would proudly walk to He ll and back with him.

I don't know, but I sure wouldn't want a bad guy to get a hold of my guns, that's why I'll give them all to the government if all hell breaks loose.

Bill O'Reilly is a populist who has some conservative opinions. What you call yourself is irrelevant. Bill Maher calls himself a libertarian, when he is exactly the opposite. Every leftist Democrat is called a "moderate" by the MSM. Republicans who criticize conservatives are called "mavericks" unless they are running for President against a Democrat, in which case they are called ultra-conservative, or right-wing.

A rose by any other name...

O'Reilly only begrudgingly acknowledged the American citizenry's RKBA, when he finally switched his public position of the issue a few years ago. It appears that he acknowledges gun rights, but believes that the individual shouldn't lawfully possess them when they might be needed most against the criminal element.

Kudos to Stewart Rhodes for effectively standing up against O'Reilly's bully interviewing style.

On a side note: He doesn't acknowledge himself a conservative, but a "traditionalist", whatever that really means.

It means he can be as bullying, racist, hateful, ignorant, and half-*ssed in his feigned logic as he wants to be.... and apparently, he really, really wants to be all of the above. When confronted with superior logic, he just shouts down his opponent or cuts their mic. Bill isn't any better than anyone against whom he rails on a daily basis with his contradictory vitriol - and worse than most. Can't wait till the day FOX realizes that he's just hurting their cause and yanks him from the airwaves... until some radio station puts him on to blather on just like pill-poppin' Rush does. It's lose-lose for the American people. If you really want to see how twisted Bill is inside his own head - and his seeming pre-occupation with teenagers, read 'Those Who Trespass.' He's pretty ate-up, IMO. When everyone else realizes that, he's in for some trouble.

    :noway:

you do realize that he regularly calls attention to the fact that he supported a stimulus, right? This is no hidden secret. I didn't even watch him on CNN and I knew it. If you actually watch him, he admits this frequently, having seen his error...:noway:

Sure do...he is only catering to a base that he knows is in a majority right now...he knows people are fed up with government abuses and that is what he focuses on. He is preaching to the choir. Although I agree with most of what he says, I still think he is there for the ratings and whatever is popular at the time is what he covers. Don't you question someone in his position to be for something under one administration, then after that changes parties, he then all of a sudden changes his view? He isn't as bad as Hannity...I can't stand to watch or listen to him at all...he is nothing but a cheerleader for the Republicans.

he's a comedian.... of course he's there for the ratings, just like Rush is...

Doesn't mean they don't do a decent job of putting information out there.

I don't like the he goes after Debra Medina for Sarah Palin, but you have to take what any of the media folks say with a grain of salt.

I listen to all kinds of opinions from people... even Alex Jones.
