Gall dang ....that's a rough patch, for sure ! If I was a doctor (I'm not), I might prescribe a muscle relaxant to help your back.
Whatever virus is going-around this winter is nasty. You might want to reconsider work on Monday.... as you sure don't want to make it worse.
Of course, you know all too well but Mrs. mcapo always said that the muscle relaxers worked better than pain meds to calm the pain down.

My oldest friend (we attended kindergarten together) had the same lumbar laminectomy as I, and swears by Flexeril (spelling ?)

Anti-inflammatories seem to work best for me. Can't do NSAIDs, but the occasional steroid does wonders.

I used to take those often and for some reason I can no longer tolerate them. Very strange. For anyone that can take them I recommend them, though I'd say start out with half a dose.

Now you listen to me young man.
    You don’t gotta work Monday.
What you gotta do is be good to go the rest of your life!

Ok, hope I’m not coming off too strong, but I also hope you get my point.
From someone who was graciously spared back surgery due to being sent to a good rehab, you are young enough you need to take care of yourself.

In my experience taking care of yourself at your age, paying attention to those little tweaks that happen now, pay big dividends down the road.

Listen to your body, and don’t be too overconfident (there’s some bad English!) about your back.

I know. And you’re right. It’s just that my time off can be costly. I don’t have a back up at work. I’m the only one in my group who does what I do. If I don’t work we have to pay a competitor to do my work. Since my customers have contracts with us and not our competitors, our competitors throw our customers on the back burner. I do take time off for family time and such but it’s often times a hassle to come back to work and clean up the messes after taking time off. But I hear what you’re saying.

Edit: the company made things this way. So they can pay for it if they have to. I don’t feel bad about that.

    Cyclobenzaprine.

We buy it by the case!

Her bilateral laminectomy and diskectomy failed in three months...those four are now fused. Pretty soon she will just have a steel rod for a spine. :(

I took my first dose of steroids ever not too long ago. Dang....felt like I was 25 again. All the little aches and pains went away - for a couple weeks. Sigh....

Well, finally got the Victory apart and there's definitely something going on. Watched a video on removing the firing pin and once the pin holding it in is removed, it's supposed to be very easy to pull out. Nope, had to force it out. I'm going to clean it up and see if it'll go back in any easier, but I believe there may be a piece of metal stuck up in the channel. I can't find any reasonable pics of the firing pin assembly, but what I see is quite possibly not how it should be. I might just order a replacement assembly if it's easy to locate.

    In the country, hopefully.

I hear you on that, too.
As responsible people, we take on, well, responsibility. It’s what we do.
If the companies small they should work to have good relationships with clients and hope for understanding, if it’s large they should be able to cover you. So you’re right, it is on them, but I get what you’re saying about feeling like you need to be there.
If there was a fever involved, they’d have you stay home.
Not trying to harp, for sure!!

My two cents is to replace the firing pin regardless. $23 from TK and peace of mind know a part that took an abnormal stress is replaced.

Numirch looks to have others parts should you need them?

Great minds. Just ordered a firing pin, spring and cup, plus the bolt insert to cover my bases. Just over $20 for all with shipping.

Ah, me and knee jerk reactions... :):

As soon as I ordered the new parts, I decided to take a closer look and discovered that yes, there was a tiny piece of casing that had gotten into the firing pin channel and had gotten stuck. Managed to extract it and clean out the channel, firing pin, spring and cup and then reassembled everything and it's now moving freely the way it should. Ah well, now the gun is cleaner than it's been in years and I have spare parts in case something breaks. Since I shoot this gun more than any gun in my collection, that's not a bad thing... ;)
