      High Caliber/power rifle - recommend...

What do you want to shoot? It is pretty hard to beat even a small "high powered" rifle in .223 or .22-250 if you want to reach out and touch something without getting pounded with recoil. If you are want to hunt big game the sky's the limit depending upon what and where you want to hunt. A...

How to practice for field shooting?

Shoot as much .22lr as you can. The main thing one can do to improve shooting is trigger time without dealing with heavy recoil or muzzle blast and a .22 does that for you and it is cheap to shoot as well.

      Advice on a rifle.

I would have to second the vote on the Browning BL-22. That is one sweet little .22lr-nice blueing and great looking wood.

      Best Pocket Pistol ever made

Kahr P380 with Crimson Trace Laserguard attached is pretty hard to beat combination. Easy to shoot and hit with. If you have really big pockets the PM9 is also a great gun in a larger caliber.

You haven't shot that gun in How Long?

I use to have a number of items that were purchased-shot a box of ammo-got cleaned and then sat in the safe for the next 5 years. Now, if it hasn't been shot in the last year I will sell it or trade for something else. Has certainly helped keep things fresh at my place!

      NAA Pug pocket holster

Thanks for the info gents. Yes, it is a sweet little piece-the precision with which it is built is amazing-I have been impressed. Funny thing is that some of my shooting buddies think it is a joke-I just told them it may be small, but there aren't too many people I know that would want to...

      Investigating noises outside

I would have to agree with Sylvain as well. Going outside puts you on the same turf as the potential bad guy without gaining anything. Calll the cops, wait inside on the "high ground" and if trouble starts with someone crawling through your window your options quickly narrow from "is the guy...

      Suggestion for carry gun

I know its not a .45 but Kahr's PM9 is pretty hard to beat as a carry gun. Small enough to fit in a pocket but big enough that it is easy to control. Keep a 6 round mag in the gun (flush fit) and a 7 rounder in your pocket and you should be ready for about anything short of all out war. If...

Online ammo sources- Please post your favorites

Midsouth Shooters Supply-great prices on hunting ammunition and reloading components. Get on their email list and they send you monthly sales that are pretty good.

      Bowhunters, help me

For putting your fletching back on I would recommend you strip the other two off with a utility knife and then take the shaft to your local pro-shop and have them refletch it for you. I have been bowhunting for 14 years and if your vanes are off just a little bit-it will impact your accuracy...

Best Progressive machine for rifle ammo?

Have been reloading metalic ammo for 8 years excusively using a rockchucker single stage. Looking to speed things up for PD hunting ammo as well as feeding an AR. Have been looking at the Dillion RL550B, and Hornady's AP reloader-any thoughts/experience with what is best? Also, with loading...

      rcbs chargemaster

I have had a chargemaster for over 2 years now and it is well worth the money. It wouldn't be my first choice for loading pistol ammo, but it has worked great loading a bucketful of .223 for prairie dog hunting over the last two seasons. There are some tips out on the internet to re-program it...

      NAA Pug pocket holster

Recently purchased a NAA Pug .22 Magnum mini-revolver. Anyone have any thoughts on a good leather pocket holster to fit this little last ditch piece? Thanks!

      Probably a stupid question...

About the only thing you may have to worry about with a tactical shotgun is capacity-many of the "tactical" shotguns will carry 5-8 shells in the magazine. Depending upon what you are hunting, waterfowl in particular, the extra ammo could get you into trouble.
