      4-5 shot in broad ripple

Living on the south end of Broad Ripple, we were coming back from a get-together last night and saw the police cars going in that direction. Didn't hear until this morning what it was about. Any word yet on what the reason for the incident was? Kindof hard not to think it was gang related if...

Guy with a gun STOPS A CRIME. Caught on camera. No one killed.

You're right. At first glance I took it she was hanging on to the purse--but they're still putting her life in danger while she simply tries to maintain her possessions. Good point. Also, her children are right there beside this swerving vehicle. Seeing the kids in danger, too, would have...

Finally we have a LEGAL directive on how to deal with armed citizens.

Maybe this is a stupid question... I get the "not other Indiana agencies" part, but what other Marion County agencies are we talking about?

Exactly. I have no right to question what he did and I'm extremely glad he did it and that it all worked out. I'm simply taking the opportunity to go over the situation in my mind and consider what I should do in said situation. I'm thinking I should get out of the car with my hand on my gun...

I also had questions about this. Was he justified in getting out of his car with his weapon drawn? I'd like to think so, but I'm wondering about the legal side of it. Overall, what an incredibly refreshing job from the media and an extremely encouraging story!

Finally we have a LEGAL directive on how to deal with armed citizens.

I am perhaps absurdly excited about this. Is it really as good of news as it sounds? This went out to IMPD? Do these things usually carry weight/are they effective?

      Carrying in a Bank

UPDATE: My plans took me to Willowbrook Regions once again today. I brought the printout from the IMPD website of the applicable Indiana code along with me in hopes of meeting my security guard friend again. Sure enough, he was there and remembered me. He mentioned talking with Code_red and...

      Biking and Carrying

Looked that one up. Interesting! Wish it were cheaper. Looks nicely versatile. I'll have to look into that. Do you think many of these would support a G19? Or is the bellyband best used for smaller guns like the kahr?

      Bunkerville NV escalating.

Interesting to read this after all that has happened a week later. No offence meant against you, Rookie. I've been in the same boat before. It's nice to be surprised sometimes.

      Biking and Carrying

A guy on that thread pointed out the possibility of getting injured in a fall or wreck by having something solid strapped to your hip. At first glance, I feel like this is a good point and now I'm unsure of my direction...

      Biking and Carrying

Hard for me to imagine that being comfortable. I'm not hardcore, but I really do like to get up there in speed and make it a workout as well as putting up good distances most times I ride. Believe it or not, I've been riding so far with an IWB holster, and I just let it be OC. It's not the...

      Biking and Carrying

Are there any avid bikers around here? :) I may not be the most hardcore, but my wife and I love distance biking. It's definitely a bit more weight to carry, but I won't leave my gun behind. Problem is... What's the best way to carry when biking? What have you found? I've seen some fanny-pack...

Good place to eat lunch in Seymore?

My coworker who grew up there and goes back all the time says Larasons in downtown Seymore. He would know. =P He says the cooks there are just fantastic, so most things should be great. Good burgers, in particular, and the best milkshakes ever, according to him.
