      Latest knife: 1095 steel with distressed finish, stabilized black walnut scales with brass pins. Sheath is 9oz cowhide with double stitching, and copper rivets.

      Made one for myself!!

      I posted pics of a "4th of July" knife a while back. I really liked it, but I ended up giving it to my son. =) So here is one I made for myself with a nice leather sheath. The light spot is where the dye I used halted the penetration of the beeswax/neatsfoot oil treatment. Cheers, /T

      Here is a pic of my latest knife. This is a bushcraft type knife made from 3/16" 1080 steel, with oak scales, fastened with 1/4" brass pins.

      Here is my completed 4th of July knife! The flag etching did not turn out as dark as I thought it would. Buffing the blade I think cleaned it up. Still like the effect tho'

      I use band saw for rough outline, then grinding and filing for final shape and bevels. The images are just etched deeply into the metal. I built a DC etcher out of an old PC power supply.

      Here are some pics of my 4th of July knife (as a work in progress). Ordered red white and blue G10 handle scales this afternoon... =) After hardening and tempering, the lower etched areas will be much darker.

      Thanks! Steel is 1095 High Carbon. Handles are black walnut w/ brass pins. Blade length on the larger of the pair is approx. 5 1/2"
