After getting my carry permit 10 years ago my first handgun was a used S&W Model 64-3 with 3" barrel and round butt. Since then I have purchased and carried several other handguns but the Smith is the one I carry the most.
After talking with my wife we are going ahead and putting it in the bedroom. In her positive thinking way my wife did bring up the fact that if the safe did fall thru the floor into the crawlspace it would make it make it harder for a thief to break in to.....God lover her!!!
All joking aside...
All great answers!!!!! Actually it is a 1 level ranch built in the 1960's crawlspace on a concrete block foundation. I t looks like it should fit to an outside wall best. That was our second choice and it should be good.
I do wish my memory was better. I am pretty sure that between my first...
I wanted to buy a second safe. One to put a few more guns in the bedroom for accessibility. I happened to stop in my local John Deere to schedule winter service for my JD mower. At the entrance they had a board talking about the "12 Days of Christmas" and coming was the day that John Deere...
I want to thank everyone for the advice. I bought a safe....maybe too much of a safe. I am going to start another thread since I have other questions. Thanks again.
Thanks for all the advice folks. I really think a gun "cabinet" vs gun "safe" would be fine. It really is just to keep the kids/nosy family away. I just feel that I need something at the bedroom end of the house for convenience.
And I am sure whatever I get will have to pass the "decor"...
My gun safe is in the family room which is at one end of the house. Our master bedroom is at the opposite end of the house. In the bedroom I do have a handgun in a safety box and a shotgun hidden in the closet. I would like to put a couple more handguns and a few rifle/shotguns with some ammo...
I keep a few Morakniv's around the yard, shed, etc. Sharp. Cheap enough if I break or lose one I do not worry about it.
Also at home doing chores inside or out I always have an Opinel in my pocket.
I will keep my eyes open for the HK 416D. Although I do not remember seeing any lately around here. I do see SW 15-22 about as much as I do 10/22 around here and they go fast.
Since I bought the most basic 10/22 without sights my first purchase will be a red dot. I have several rifles with...
Went to Wallster to pick up a few groceries and a tube of Loctite Blue. Moving from one side of the store to the other takes me past the ammo counter so naturally I take a look and they had a few 325 boxes of Federal Automatch 22LR. Of course I bought my 3 box limit. Checking out, there was...
I want to thank everyone who responded to my original post about buying a new 22LR gun. The advice was fantastic and much appreciated. After going thru the posts I made a mental list of a couple rifles and 2-3 handguns I would start looking more serious at.
Yesterday, I stopped in at Dunhams...
